Terre Exotique Trappeur Cooking Kit from Harrods

As the seasons change so does my diet, and as we’re moving into spring I am wanting to leave behind those stodgy winter suppers and experiment with some lighter, fresher flavours... Which is where Harrods latest must-have cookery set comes into play. The Terre Exotique Trappeur Cooking Kit contains everything the home gourmand needs to revitalise their pantry and put some zing into spring cookery.
Complete with a recipe book full of mouth-watering ideas, the Terre Exotique Trappeur Cooking Kit boasts an exciting range of spices, glazes and condiments that will add a touch of wow to even the most humdrum of ingredients. From the warm, smoky-flavoured Viking Salt, with its onion, curry and black pepper mix, which is just as ideal for jazzing up an omelette as it is for seasoning flavoured bread, to the Herbes Sauvages de Crete (Wild Herb Mix to you and me), which combines those spice rack staples basil, thyme, rosemary, oregano and marjoram to delicious effect, adding a distinctive Mediterranean feel to veggie sauces, meaty marinades and everything in between. The Huile D’olives Influence Scandinave is a light and tempting blend of olive, fennel and dill oils with lemon extract, which adds a delicate citrus tang to white meats, fish and rice dishes, as well as working wonderfully as a simple dip, while the Melange Canadien is an interesting mix of sugar, garlic, onion, pink pepper corn and maple sugar, perfect for adding a touch of interest to any fish dish. I wasn’t really sure that I would find a use for the final ingredient, Pink Peppercorns, but when crushed they add an excellent and distinctive flavour to vegetable soup, and although I’ve yet to try this, I am told that they are capable of transforming vanilla ice-cream into a dish fit for the gods.
Beautifully presented in a leather and cloth roll, which would look perfectly at home in the backpack of an upmarket hunter, the Terre Exotique Trappeur Cooking Kit makes for an ideal gift for any foodie, not to mention an inspirational kitchen treat for yourself.

The Terre Exotique Trappeur Cooking Kit is £25 and available from Harrods Knightsbridge, London,  as well as online at www.harrods.com.
