KORRES Magnolia Bark Skincare Collection

If, like me, you favour a more natural approach to skincare and cosmetics, then you’re probably already aware of the Greek company KORRES. I’ve been a fan of their subtle scents for quite some time now, but for some reason that I can’t quite fathom I’ve never progressed to try the rest of the range, so when the press release for the new KORRES Magnolia Bark Skincare Collection appeared on my desk I seized the opportunity to give it a try.

KORRES began life in Athens in 1996, with the aim of creating natural skin- and hair-care products built on a foundation of homeopathic principles. A decade and a half on, the company prides itself on the development of an ever-extending collection of clinically effective and safe organically certified cosmetics, sun care products and herbal preparations.
The company’s latest range is based upon a recent discovery that Magnolia Bark extract contains ‘two potent anti-inflammatory substances Magnolol and Honokiol’ which actively work to inhibit the ageing process in skin. When combined with soothing and healing Aloe Vera Juice, nourishing Apricot Kernel Oil, Glycerin to aid the skin in absorbing the other ingredients and those three super free-radical fighters Rosemary Oil, Curcuma Longa (Tumeric) extract and Jojoba Oil (which is also über hydrating), you have yourself a pretty damn fine set of anti-wrinkle moisturisers. The creams work by targeting and soothing the inflammation caused by the slowing of the skins immune system, which naturally occurs with age and leads to the development of fine lines, wrinkles and a loss of elasticity.
KORRES Magnolia Bark First Wrinkles Day Cream SPF15 (£22.50 40ml) is delicately scented and quickly absorbed, providing the perfect base upon which to build your daily skin care regime. Although there are no instant results, this is a light, pleasant moisturiser to use, which leaves skin feeling nourished and hydrated, while the SPF15 protection helps to prevent further environmental damage to the skin. After a few weeks of use in conjunction with KORRES Magnolia Bark First Wrinkles Night Cream (£22.50 40ml), which is thicker and heavier without being greasy or blocking the pores, skin appears smoother and firmer with a more even tone and texture. A little of each cream goes a long way, so although £45 may seem like a lot to send on moisturiser the pots work out to be excellent value for money.

The KORRES Magnolia Bark Skincare Collection launches in the UK in March and will be available to purchase online from www.ASOS.com. For more information please visit www.KORRES.com .
